This week has been marvelous, fantastic and terrific!

In Social Studies and Language Arts we finished Chapter 13 and 14 of Ticket to Curlew. Sam was going read "The Fir Tree" to the parents in the Schoolhouse, BUT he forgot the book on the dining table at home! Sam felt sick, nervous and scared, but he overcame his fears and managed to tell the story in his own words. In Chapter 14, Pa was thinking about getting rid of Prince, Goldie and Pete because they didn't have enough money to feed five horses. Pa set him loose on the prairie, and we hope he comes back and survives the cold, windy, harsh winter!

In Science we learned about the different parts of plants. First, we took jot notes about facts about the roots, stem, leaves, buds/flowers, and seeds. We took this information to make an interactive diagram! We are also are checking on how our Tomatosphere plants are doing, and counting how many have germinated. So far, 11 have germinated in group A and 14 have germinated in group B.

In Math we learned long division!

Here's a video that shows how it works:

This week, Harveen presented her passion project about Wonderland. We experienced a first person ride on the Leviathan roller coaster! We also learned that tickets, food and souvenirs are expensive, and it would be wise to visit in September (or when it's rainy) because it would be less packed!

This week, Gavin also presented his passion project about the internet. We learned that Robert E. Khan and Vint Cerf invented the internet.

Our spelling pattern next week:
