This week was marvelous!

In gym, we practiced some hockey drills, and played a game as a class.

In science, we watched a Bill Nye video about lights and shadows, and made a concept map.

In math we learned the "Breaking it Down" strategy in addition. We  also played a new math race game afterwards to practice our skills.

In social studies, we looked and observed artifacts from the Glenbow museum. These artifacts would have been similar to those used by David Thompson, Charlotte Small, the Voyageurs, and the Niitsitapi people.

Our spelling pattern this week is:

When a short-vowel word ends in a single consonant, the consonant is usually doubled before adding an ending that begins with a vowel. In words with 2 or more syllables, the final consonant is usually doubled if the last syllable has a short vowel followed by a single consonant.

Ex: begin + ing = beginning

      drop + ed = dropped
      jog + er = jogger

beginning
humming
dropped
sitting
slipping
joggers
grabbing
bobbing
tripped
padded
skimming
scrubbing
winners
outfitted
wrapped
clapping
dragging
chatting
quitter
trimmer

Reminders:

  • Our field trip to the Glenbow is next Tuesday. Make sure you bring a cold sack lunch to eat onsite.
Have a great weekend!
